Our Living Room

We decided to relocate the sectional to a corner to help open up the room. It's the perfect fix.
Mark's famous armoire made it in one piece!
Now Mark is jonesing for a recliner. What is it with guys and recliners? We've found one that we both like, so now it's just a matter of saving our pennies. What do you think?

The room is definitely lacking that certain ummmfff. I think it's just a matter of hanging some pictures and getting an area rug. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I think a rug and art might make it feel more homey. It's very monochromatic right now (but looks VERY comfey!!).

Also a nice plant can add a pop of color and life.

I don't know what it is with guys and barca loungers. You saw our apartment, you saw how small it is. and yet Sean is constantly scheming to figure out how we can fit one in there...

I stave him off by assuring him that the barca lounger is on "the list"...after the wedding, honeymoon, house, new boat...

Tali - yeah, it's very monochromatic. It may stay like that for the short term, because we have other projects that require more immediate attention before we go splurging on a rug and accessories.

MR - Good call. We have a giant plant (eh hem fake) that surprisingly looks real that will probably find a home in the opposite corner.

Jillian - You just opened up a whole new world to me! I googled Barca Lounger, and there are some really nice recliners! I think they'll be even more out of our price range though.

"What is it with guys and recliners?" interesting... in our family it is the lady of the house that reclaimed the recliner, and i have to get a special permission to use it.
it is clear that both of you are putting lot of energy into this new old house and it shows. i love what you have done so far. cannot wait to see it in person, hopefully in october. love, dad

Dad- Perhaps you should invest in a down cushion couch. I doubt mom would want to sit in the recliner then... We can't wait to have you guys visit!
